A list of suggestions
Ok I run a pretty big site and Ive been using the hell out of this script and I have some advice, I have listed them in order of priority.
- The ' and " marks. I understand they have to be changed to ´s in the title, but there shouldnt be a reason to change them in the actual replies. ´ looks ugly as hell.
- Order of comments. The order has changed up now, from newest to oldest. I personally preferred the other way as that is what the rest of the forum runs, but there should at least be a choice between the two, if we cant have a choice, I would personally like to know how to hard code it so it lists oldest to newest again.
- Custom video player. This is actually pretty easy to code Id imagine. Let us have our own custom flash "frame" for the videos, with our own branding, then just pull the video .flv file from the sources and not the whole embedded flash file. I want to get rid of the YouTube branding for example. The other non-vbulletin video scripts all offer this feature.
- Fix the link to the second pages in the downloadable like you did in my Bugs thread if you havent already.
- Using the custom flash border suggestion from above would also allow us to have an embed code that does not mention youtube.com or whatever.
- I'd like to be able to change up the front page. Id like to display the thumb nails differently, like three columns with just the thumbnail and title below it, that would allow you to fit more on there with the same amount of threads. This is just a template issue and if you want I can do the bulk if not all of the work on it for you if you're interested. Let me know.
