Default positive criticism

I am a new user of this wonderful VB add-on. After a rocky install (my own fault) I tested the program all day before going into production. There are a couple of little "don't likes" that I will list in this post. VBTube is great as it is but I would like for it to be awesome. Some of the points may have been addressed and a solution is at hand. Some of the points might be know issues that will get addressed in a future release.

This is positive criticism

- Bug? User can comment on videos even if the user has no postings privs in the associated forum. However in that forum he can not directly post only by commenting in the vbtube interface. The only way to prevent a forum member to leave comments and reply in the vbtube forum is to disable vbtube use for that usergroup or to disable commenting altogether.

- Description allows no line breaks. Does not support <br>. However in the associated forum the description does show breaks. If this is on purpose then it would be nice to have an option to enable/disable it.

- Tell a friend email get send from the forums email address. It would be nice if it would get send from the forums user that is logged in. Also it needs a captcha verifier. I would hate to open up my forum to spam bots.

- Ability to enable/disable featured video.

- Ability to enable/disable "tell a friend" email feature

- "Report" links needs image verifier or should be limited to forum members PM.

- Ability to enable/disable "Report"

- Some video categories should be restricted to certain usergroups uploads while others should be open. I might want a category for Video producers only where a certain usergroup can add content while the general user public can add to all other categories. Right now its all or nothing.

- If no video thumb image gets uploaded pick a default one or have the user pick one of a few available generic Thumbnails for videos other then youtube.

- When a new video gets added it creates a new thread in the associated forum. That URL in the forum uses the forums default target. In my case thats _blank. I would like to see an option in VBtube options to stay with the forums default or use another target like _self, _parent,_top etc. (this might be a VBulletin limitation?)

- Setting Allow Adult to no should disable obvious Adult video sharing links from being added. Does RedTube offer any videos other then adult? nope. So if setting adult no then redtube no also.

- Non English Character Support when adding with youtube browser. I Added a Youtube video with German characters in it and my non German VB messes up the characters. Example: http://www.you tube.com/watch?v=k3xbpFC9dD4 turns into this: vBYes.com - vBTubePRO Official Website - Deutschland - Türkei 3 - 2 EM 2008 Halbfinale

Most of those are good points, but can't you simply disable 'tell a friend' via permissions? (just deny permissions for the usergroup which you dont want to be able to see/use it).

Yes, true for usergroups but not true for guests or unregistered users.

A guest will see the "tell a friend" link, but when submitting it will prompt to login.
